Russell Dickerson is taking a creative leap with his upcoming single “BOOTS,” a collaboration with Fetty Wap set to drop May 8. The track blends country roots with smooth R&B influences, pairing storytelling-driven lyrics with a rhythmic, crossover-ready sound.

Co-written by Dickerson, Matt Dragstrem, and Dylan Marlowe, the song has already stirred major interest online after a teaser exploded on TikTok with more than 34 million views.

Early reactions have labeled the track a “country-trap anthem,” as it mixes Dickerson’s grounded imagery with Fetty Wap’s melodic style. The result feels like a natural, if unexpected, evolution—one that expands Dickerson’s sound while staying true to the emotional tone fans know him for.

The release arrives during a milestone week for the Dickerson: on May 8, he will headline the “Nash-Birthday Bash” at Ascend Amphitheater, joined by Tyler Hubbard, Adrien Nunez, and Kevin Powers. The hometown show kicks off a busy stretch that includes larger venues and continued touring momentum.

With billions of streams behind hits like “Yours,” “Blue Tacoma,” and “Love You Like I Used To,” plus his latest album FAMOUS BACK HOME and an extended tour run through 2026, Dickerson is clearly in stride. “BOOTS” marks not just a new release, but a bold step into a more experimental phase of his career.
