The classic sitcom Malcolm in the Middle is making a comeback with a limited revival on Hulu, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. The four-episode event is scheduled to premiere April 10, 2026, and Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for the series.

Set nearly two decades after the original series ended, the story reunites the chaotic Wilkerson family when Malcolm is pulled back into their orbit after years of keeping his distance. In the trailer, Frankie Muniz’s Malcolm insists, “My life is fantastic now. All I had to do was stay away from my family!” — but his attempt at a peaceful life quickly unravels when his parents demand he attend their 40th wedding anniversary celebration.

Many familiar faces are returning for the revival, including Bryan Cranston as Hal and Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, along with Christopher Kennedy Masterson (Francis), Justin Berfield (Reese), and Emy Coligado (Piama). The role of Dewey has been recast, with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark stepping in for former actor Erik Per Sullivan.

The new storyline also introduces several fresh characters, including Malcolm’s daughter Leah, played by Keeley Karsten, his girlfriend Tristan portrayed by Kiana Madeira, and his youngest sibling Kelly, played by Vaughan Murrae.

The original sitcom aired on Fox Broadcasting Company from 2000 to 2006 and was created by Linwood Boomer, who returns as a writer and executive producer for the revival. Cranston also serves as an executive producer alongside several longtime collaborators.

All 151 episodes of the original “Malcolm in the Middle” are available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
